Audit Logs Overview
Welcome to the Trimlink Audit Logs guide. This section provides everything you need to know about tracking account activity, monitoring security, and maintaining compliance across your entire Organization.
As you explore the guides in this category, you will find step-by-step instructions covering:
- Activity Tracking: Understanding how Trimlink records user actions.
- Searching & Filtering: Finding specific events quickly by date, user, or role.
- Exporting Records: Downloading your logs to meet IT and compliance requirements.
- Security Monitoring: Using logs to investigate unexpected changes or unauthorized access.
Tracked Activities & Events
Trimlink automatically works in the background to record significant events. We log a wide variety of activities so you always have a clear picture of your Organization's health. Trimlink tracks:
- Authentication Events: Successful logins, logouts, and failed login attempts.
- Workspace Changes: When Workspaces are created, updated, or permanently deleted.
- Team Management: When users are invited, roles are changed, or someone is added to a Group.
- Link & Domain Updates: When Custom Domains are connected or major changes are made to short links.
- Security Settings: When a user enables or disables Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
Searching & Filtering
When your team is highly active, your Audit Logs will grow quickly. Trimlink provides built-in tools to help you cut through the noise and find exactly what you need:
- Keyword Search: Find exact events by searching for a specific user's email address or an event name.
- Date Ranges: Narrow down your view to a specific day, week, or month to investigate a past incident.
- Role Filters: Isolate the dashboard to only show actions taken by highly privileged users, like Super Admins.
Exporting & Compliance
For larger businesses and agencies, keeping a hard copy of security events is often a legal or internal requirement.
Inside the Audit Logs dashboard, you can instantly generate a CSV Export of your records. By applying your filters before you click export, you can download highly targeted reports—such as "All Admin actions from last month"—to share directly with your IT or security teams.
Critical Security Note: To guarantee complete trust and compliance, all Audit Logs are strictly read-only. Once an event is recorded by the system, it cannot be edited, altered, or deleted by anyone—including the Organization Owner.
